TENANT INFORMATION PACKS NOW LIVE

Posted on

From 1st May 2013, landlords providing an assured or short assured tenancy have a legal duty to provide all new tenants with a Tenant Information Pack (TIP) no later than the tenancy start date.

The pack provides essential information relevant to both landlords and tenants and is intended to improve the accessibility of information to tenants.

This pack is the latest in a range of initiatives to modernise the rental sector within Scotland.

Other changes have included the requirement to include Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings in all advertisements and to provide a full copy of the EPC to incoming tenants.

A further change also came into force on 1st June 2013, requiring a landlord’s registration details to be included in letting adverts.

At Bowlts Chartered Surveyors, our staff undertake regular training to ensure they are fully conversant with the new regulations and to ensure our clients receive the best advice possible.

Our team of experts also have extensive local knowledge and are able to offer landlords and potential landlords an efficient and personal service, tailored to their needs. From one off advice to a full property management service, Bowlts is there to help you maximise your investment.
