MORAY BUSINESS WOMEN

Susan Longmuir, Chartered Architect and Head of Building Department, is a committee member of Moray Business Women (MBW), a club for business and professional women in and around Moray. MBW’s aim is to provide a network where women can come together in both a professional and social capacity.

Meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month, members and guests come together and network over dinner. Each meeting is different, with either a focus on networking and getting to know your fellow members a bit better or with a guest speaker. Guest speakers will range from inspirational business women and men, to politicians and entrepreneurs.

September’s evening event will be FREE to attend for members and guests. If you wish to come along to find out what Moray Business Women is all about, please do come and meet us. You will be made very welcome. You may be self employed, an employee or even both! If you are new to the club and a bit nervous about coming along to your first meeting or introducing yourself to our members, then don't worry, MBW will have committee members on hand to help. They will be there to help answer any questions you might have and will help introduce you to other members of the club. The event is being held at Sunninghill Hotel, Elgin on Thursday 5th September 2013 from 7pm.

Please email Susan at susan@bowlts.com for more details.

As well as monthly meetings, the club actively works with chosen charities each year to raise money for worthwhile causes. For 2013 the chosen charities are ' Action For Children Scotland ' and ' Moray Handy Persons Service'. Charity events in the past have included a charity race night, golf days. Last year was rounded off with our Charity Awards Ball, where the past year was celebrated and awards given for those women who excelled in their business and professional life.

HIGHLAND BUSINESS WOMEN’S CLUB

For those ladies working in the Highlands there is a sister club Highland Business Women’s Club for women in business across the Highlands, both employed and self employed.

Our Susan Longmuir has been liaising with this club to strengthen links with the MBW Club, and are in the process of planning a joint meeting early next year, plus arranging a 'discount' between clubs for membership.

Like MBW, this club provides opportunities for women at work and in business to network, share experiences and knowledge and create a positive impact on Highland business community by raising the profile of HBWC’s members within and beyond the network. Please refer to the HBW website for more details.
