NEW STUDY INTO FISHING TOURISM IN SCOTLAND

The Scottish Country Sports Tourism Group (SCSTG), with support from Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) have commissioned Public & Corporate Economic Consultants (PACEC) to assess the economic impact of tourist* fishing on Scotland rivers and lochs, and the future growth prospects for the sector. *(A tourist is defined as someone who spends at least one night away from home while fishing in Scotland.)

PACEC are carrying out a survey of anglers who stayed away from home for at least one night in Scotland for the purposes of fishing in 2013 - including those who live elsewhere in Scotland.

This study will complement a larger study into the benefit of shooting sports throughout the UK. This will assess the value of country sports tourism to the Scottish Economy.

RURAL PRACTICE CHARTERED SURVEYOR AND TRAINEE CHARTERED SURVEYOR POSITIONS

Due to an increasing workload, we are looking to expand our rural practice department. Our office is based at Pluscarden, near Elgin, Moray. We currently have a staff of 15 and our core activity is property consultancy and rural estate management.

We are currently accepting applications for both a Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor as well as a Trainee Chartered Surveyor.

The successful applicants will join our rural practice team, which consists of four fully qualified land agents. Both positions are full-time, working Monday to Friday, and salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
