We are delighted to announce that Susan Longmuir, Chartered Architect and Head of our Building Department has been shortlisted for the Highland Business Women’s Club (HBWC) Annual Awards in the HBWC Businesswoman of the Year (employed) category. Susan is one of three finalists with strong competition from Margaret Ferguson of Castle Security and Dawn Murray of Moray Firth Radio.

The purpose of the Awards is to showcase and celebrate achievement among the female business and professional community in the Highland area across all sectors. As well as highlighting the ever increasing contribution of women to the economic success of the Highlands, the awards are aimed at identifying appropriate role models to inspire and motivate others.

This year there are four categories:-

  • HBWC Member of the Year
  • HBWC Business Woman of the Year (self employed)
  • HBWC Business Woman of the Year (employed)
  • HBWC Most Enterprising Business of the Year (under 3 years)

The awards dinner takes place this evening (Friday 14th March 2014) at the Kingsmills Hotel, Inverness with Janet Street Porter as guest speaker at the dinner.

As well as being a member of HBWC, Susan is also Vice President of Moray Business Women (MBW) and was a finalist in November 2013 for two of three categories of their annual awards - Moray Business Woman of the Year and Member of Achievement 2013.
Both clubs meet monthly and most recently held the first of many joint meetings and provide opportunities for women at work and in business to network in both a professional and social capacity, share experiences and knowledge and create a positive impact on Moray & Highland business communities by raising the profile of club members within and beyond the networks.

A warm friendly welcome is available to all women in business both employed & self employed or both and for more details please refer to the clubs websites, Facebook & Twitter pages.
